The Saint-Péray Appellation

Nestled at the southernmost tip of the Northern Rhône Valley, the Saint-Péray AOC is one of the few appellations in the region devoted exclusively to white and sparkling wines! Recognized since 1936, this discreet appellation captivates with its elegance, freshness, and a history closely linked to French gastronomy.

A Discreet Vineyard with Prestigious Origins

Located on the heights of the commune of Saint-Péray, just steps from Valence, the appellation now covers just over 90 hectares. It is one of the smallest in the Northern Rhône, yet no less remarkable. In fact, it has been known since the 19th century for its sparkling wines, served at the tables of tsars and royal courts.

The Marsanne and Roussanne grape varieties thrive here on granitic, limestone, and clay-sandy soils. The mild but windy climate favors wines of great finesse with characteristic minerality.

Still Whites or Sparkling: Two Expressions of the Same Terroir

The Saint-Péray AOC produces still white wines, often dry and elegant, with aromas of white flowers, yellow-fleshed fruits, and almond. But it is also renowned for its sparkling wines made using the traditional method: fine bubbles, delicate freshness, and a unique signature within the Northern Rhône Valley.

These wines, still too little known, deserve to be discovered and tasted by both knowledgeable enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike.
